A Chinese vase and cover the yellow ground painted with magpies amongst prunus blossom, the disc lid with knop finial, 21.5cm high
The painting of the birds is very well done and the vase is very striking. The disc lid has been stuck down with bluetac which will need soaking off - therefore I cannot remove it to see inside. I cannot see any cracks, chips or restoration to the vase. The yellow glaze is brighter in the join between the finial and the lid. Its difficult to see this area in detail to confirm whether the finial has been re-applied but on balance I think not but cannot be certain. The tip of the finial has a tiny chip and the gilding is rubbed. The whole needs cleaning.
