Morphets offer a confidential and professional valuation service to solicitors, executors, trustees and private clients, providing a detailed inventory with appraisals for the following purposed:

Probate, Inheritance Tax, Insurance, Family Division, Capital Gains and Tax Planning, Sale in Situ and for Auction.

The Inventory
Written valuations take the form of a detailed inventory, which will identify the object, with dimensions, weight, date, maker and a photograph where appropriate, together with a current market figure.

Morphets valuation service for executors
Perhaps one of the most difficult tasks an executor has to deal with is the personal and domestic effects belonging to an estate. We will respond quickly and give preliminary advice on the nature and value of the contents. We can in particular identify any items of high value which may be at risk if the property is unoccupied. Morphets provides a full house clearance service with detailed results for executors and families.

Valuations for probate purposes can normally be prepared at short notice to assist in family discussions, applying for probate and to avoid delay in the dispersal of bequests. Care is taken to provide this service with the minimum of intrusion at a time of bereavement.

Valuations for insurance
Most people insure the contents of their home but few seek professional advice as to the true value of their items.

A collection purchased over the years will often have increased in value at a higher rate than expected. Owners of antiques and fine art are well advised to check that they are not under insured. Whilst the overall insurance cover for a household may be sufficient, an individual item may fall into a category or have a value above the threshold for which your insurers require specific indemnity.

A detailed description may well be vital in trying to identify and trace stolen items and assist in a successful claim for compensation.

Your insurance valuation can be updated periodically to take into account movement in the market which can push prices higher or lower very quickly.
